Boßeln 2007
Bosseln is a traditional Frisian (people living in the north part of Germany) pastime. The saying goes: “First, the Frisian learns how to walk, then how to “bossel”. Similar to both skittles and bowling – in that you take a little run up before releasing a ball – in bosseln, teams try to roll the ball towards a target in as few throws as possible. Always 2 teams plays against each other.
As colleagues we doing this traditional pastime one time a year.
During a walk of approx. 3 – 5 kilometres the participants try to roll the ball towards the target in as few throws as possible. In the End the group with the fewest throws is the winner.
In the end, there will be a delicious meal waiting for the participants. In a cheery round the winning team of the games will be celebrated and a new “Kohlkönig” will be elected. In our case he will be responsible for organizing the event next year .
